Druimmuir Spaniels are small private and non commercial kennels based in Aberdeenshire, North East Scotland. The local area is
ideally suited for dog training and spaniels in particular. A lot of the cover faced by the dogs include gorse, whins, thick laid bracken and heather to the soft white grass of local fields. With
many local syndicates and commercial shoots in the area there is no shortage of game experience for the dogs, and all the dogs regardless of breed participate in days picking up beating , and walked
up days during the season. Mixed with this the dogs also participate in occasional grouse days, pigeon shooting and wildfowling days.
The kennel name/affix was inspired by the first of the dogs we brought over from Northern Ireland, they came from a town near to " Dromore" and that town got
it's name back in the time of the vikings from the old name "DRUIM MUIR" which means "river ford or crossing.." . The town lies on the banks of the river Lagan and the first springer pups we brought
over were bred along Laganmill lines, so we thought it was quite a fitting name bridging the connections between our first trialling dogs and their Irish ancestry, and gave us the inspiration to
register the affix "DRUIMMUIR".
We also have the facilities to set up small and friendly training classes and incorporate bango launchers to create shooting scenarios to further aid people with
training. This however is easier accommodated outwith the shooting season.
